How to Select Anti-corrosion Coatings for Industrial Project Steel Pipes

There are many types of anti-corrosion coatings, and the performance and applications of anti-corrosion steel pipes vary. Correct selection is crucial for the anti-corrosion effect and service life of the coating. The following should be considered when selecting a coating:

1. The properties of the surface material of the object being coated: For example, iron oxide red or red lead primers can be selected for ferrous metals, while red lead primers not only fail to protect non-ferrous metals such as aluminum but can also damage them.

2. The operating environment of the object being coated: Anti-corrosion coatings are highly specific to the environment. The most suitable coating type should be selected based on the specific operating environment, such as the type, concentration, and temperature of the medium, and the operating conditions of the equipment.

3. Construction conditions: The appropriate coating type should be selected based on the actual conditions of the construction site. For example, solvent-free, high-solids, or water-based anti-corrosion coatings are recommended for construction in poorly ventilated areas. Only self-drying coatings can be used in sites without baking and drying capabilities.

4. Comprehensive technical and economic benefits: Not only should excellent technical performance be considered, but also economic rationality. When conducting economic accounting, material costs, surface treatment costs, construction costs, coating performance and service life, maintenance costs, etc., should be taken into account.
