S32205 stainless steel welded pipes are formed from 2205 stainless steel strip. 2205 steel pipes are a duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum, and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It possesses high strength, good impact toughness, and good overall and localized resistance to stress corrosion. The yield strength of duplex stainless steel is twice that of austenitic stainless steel, a characteristic that allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more advantageous than 316 and 317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for temperature ranges of -50°F to +600°F. Applications outside this temperature range can also be considered, but with some limitations, especially when used in welded structures.
