Manufacturing of large diameter seamless steel pipes

1. Raw material selection

2. Heating and rolling

3. Sizing and reducing diameter

This process requires the use of high-precision sizing machines and reducing machines, and precise control of temperature and deformation to ensure the shape and dimensional accuracy of the steel pipe.

4. Heat treatment
After the sizing and reducing diameter are completed, heat treatment is required. Heat treatment is to adjust the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of steel pipes. This process requires long-term treatment at high temperatures to change the crystal structure inside the steel pipe and improve its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. At the same time, to meet the manufacturing requirements of large-diameter seamless steel pipes, a large heat treatment furnace is also needed for heat treatment.

5. Non-destructive testing
After heat treatment is completed, non-destructive testing of large-diameter seamless steel pipes is required. Non-destructive testing is to ensure that the quality of the steel pipe meets the requirements and does not contain internal cracks, bubbles, inclusions, and other defects. In this process, non-destructive testing technologies such as ultrasonic testing and radiographic testing need to be used to comprehensively inspect the steel pipe to ensure that its quality meets the requirements.

6. Packaging and leaving the factory
Finally, the large-diameter seamless steel pipe needs to be packaged and shipped from the factory. The main purpose of packaging is to protect steel pipes from damage during transportation and storage. After packaging is completed, the steel pipes that pass the quality inspection can be shipped from the factory for sale. Before leaving the factory, various performance indicators of steel pipes need to be tested and corresponding quality inspection reports issued.
