Some installation points about stainless steel pipe fittings

The installation method of stainless steel pipe fittings is the same as that of ordinary carbon steel pipe fittings, but there are some special requirements in certain processes. as follows:

1. When lifting stainless steel pipe fittings, they should not be in direct contact with other metals and should be padded with non-metallic materials such as wooden boards or rubber sheets.

2. The arc starting and closing of stainless steel pipe fittings is carried out by the reflow method, and the arc crater should be filled. Arc starting must be completed within the groove. Arcing and arc starting on the surface of the base material of pipes and pipe fittings is prohibited. If defects such as pores and cracks are found at the arc starting and closing points, they should be dealt with promptly.

3. The arc starting and closing points of multi-pass and multi-layer welding of stainless steel pipe fittings should be staggered from each other.

4. Stainless steel pipes, pipe fittings, elbows, tees, etc., as well as the connections between stainless steel pipes and pipe fittings and non-stainless steel pipes and pipe fittings, the welded butt joints must be filled with argon for protection before welding. Extreme argon arc welding.

5. When stainless steel pipe fittings are continuously welded, the interlayer temperature shall not exceed 60°C.

6. When positioning welding of stainless steel pipes, pipes, and pipe fittings, the inside of the weld should be protected by argon filling.

7. Stainless steel pipe fittings are not allowed to be cut with ordinary grinding wheels. Special grinding wheels or plasma cutting for stainless steel pipe fittings should be used.

8. The welds at the connection joints of stainless steel pipe fittings must be pickled and passivated after welding.

9. The water pressure test of stainless steel pipelines has certain requirements for water temperature and quality. The water temperature must not be less than 5 degrees Celsius; the chloride ion content in the water must not be greater than 25Pmm.
