Steel structure connection method

Weld connection
Connection method: Arc welding is mainly used to connect welds in steel structures. That is, at the connection point of the components, the high temperature generated by the arc melts the welding rod or wire metal placed in the welding part to connect the components.
Application: It is a rigid connection (can withstand bending moment). In addition to structures that directly bear dynamic loads, weld connections can be used under ultra-low temperature conditions.

Bolted
Connection method: For high-strength bolt connections, use a special wrench to tighten the high-strength bolts and apply the specified pretension force to them.
Application: It is a hinged joint (bending moment is zero) and can be used under normal circumstances. It is characterized by fast on-site operation, easy disassembly, and convenient maintenance.

Rivet connection
Riveting method: The construction procedure of rivet connection is to first make a hole 1.0 to 1.5 mm larger than the diameter of the nail in the components to be connected. Then heat the rivet with a semicircular nail head at one end until it turns cherry red, insert it into the hole, and then rivet it with a rivet gun or rivet machine to fill the nail hole with the rivet and beat it into another rivet head.
Application: Used when the structural stress is small.
